I love how smooth this is

I honestly have trouble spending $8 on a matcha at a coffee shop because half the time it’s not as good! I love how smooth this is. Not grassy or bitter at all. Just lovely

MATCHA FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ceremonial grade matcha?
Ceremonial grade matcha is the highest quality matcha, made from the youngest, most tender tea leaves harvested during the first flush in early spring. These leaves are shade-grown, hand-picked, and stone-ground into a fine powder with a vibrant green color and naturally sweet, smooth flavor.
How much caffeine is in matcha?
One serving of ceremonial matcha contains about 70mg of caffeine—roughly half the amount in a cup of coffee. However, matcha's caffeine works differently thanks to L-theanine, which promotes calm, focused energy lasting 4-6 hours without jitters or crashes.
Where is your matcha from?
Our matcha is sourced from a single organic farm in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture—the birthplace of matcha with over 800 years of tradition. Uji is renowned worldwide for producing the finest quality ceremonial matcha.
How should I prepare matcha?
For traditional matcha: Sift 1-2 tsp of matcha into a bowl, add 2-3 oz of hot water (175°F), and whisk vigorously in a zigzag motion until frothy. For lattes: Whisk matcha with a small amount of hot water first, then add warm milk of your choice.
What's the difference between ceremonial and culinary matcha?
Ceremonial matcha is made from first-harvest spring leaves, resulting in a sweeter, smoother flavor perfect for drinking straight. Culinary matcha comes from later harvests, has a stronger, slightly bitter taste, and is ideal for lattes, smoothies, and baking.
Is your matcha organic?
Yes! Our matcha is certified organic under both U.S. and Japanese (JAS) regulations. Every batch is rigorously tested for heavy metals, mold, and pesticides to ensure absolute purity and safety.
How should I store matcha?
Keep your matcha sealed in a cool, dry place away from light, moisture, and strong odors. Once opened, use within 4-5 weeks for peak freshness. For unopened matcha, refrigeration extends shelf life—just let it reach room temperature before opening to prevent condensation.
Can I use matcha in recipes?
Absolutely! While our ceremonial grade is best enjoyed as tea or lattes, you can use it in smoothies, baked goods, energy balls, ice cream, and more. For baking and cooking, culinary grade matcha is more cost-effective and holds up better to heat.
Does matcha expire?
Matcha doesn't technically expire but does lose freshness over time. Unopened matcha can last 12+ months when refrigerated. Once opened, it's best consumed within 4-5 weeks for optimal flavor, color, and nutrient content.
Why is ceremonial matcha more expensive?
Ceremonial matcha requires intensive care: the youngest leaves are shade-grown for weeks, hand-picked, stems and veins removed, then slowly stone-ground (only 30g per hour!). This labor-intensive process and superior quality justify the premium price.
